2nd grade Community Helpers/Parent Presentations

Second Grade students at Aspen School are studying communities as part of the social studies curriculum.  As part of their learning, teachers have invited in parent volunteers, who serve important roles in the community, to share information about their jobs and how they help.  Students have already heard from a doctor,  a policeman/investigator and a scientist.  Today students were fortunate to have a presentation from Mrs. Portwood.  Mrs. Portwood is a nurse and she was able to share with students a little about the work she does and the tools she uses to help her as a nurse.  Our sincerest thanks to all the parents who have volunteered to come in and share information about their important role in the community.  2nd grade students are meeting every Tuesday morning throughout the first trimester to learn more about different jobs and important roles in the community.
