Teacher Appreciation “Thanks”

Thank you so much to all the parents and families that took part in Teacher Appreciation Week.  Our staff was in awe of the amazing week-long celebration.  We have amazing families and we sincerely appreciate your support!

Registration

Registration information (infosnap) letters have been sent home and the registration process should have been completed by now.  If you have not yet completed your registration online yet, please do so immediately.   Students will not be placed in a class, assigned a teacher, or put on a bus route until the online registration is complete.

Canned Goods

Countryside Fire Department has put a large bin in our lobby to collect canned goods for those in need.  Please help us fill the container – feel free to send in canned goods with your child.  Thanks for helping!

YEARBOOKS

Extra yearbooks are available.  If you would like to purchase one, please send in cash or a check (made out to Hawthorn School) for $16.00.  First come, first served.

Board of Education SPECIAL MEETING

The Hawthorn Board of Education is conducting a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31st to hear a report by its architect, DLR Group on the assessment of current school buildings.  Following the architect’s presentation will be a guided question and answer session to gain feedback from parents and the community.  The Board will meet at Middle School South, 600 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills in the gym.

Healthy Lifestyles

Our 5th grade students will be celebrating the completion of their Healthy Lifestyles class on Monday, May 25 at 1:00 p.m.  Officer Jon Paret will be facilitating the celebration.  Parents are welcome to come.

Regional Fair

Our 4th grade students will be holding their Regional Fairs next week.  Don’t miss the amazing presentations!  Check with your student for exact times and location.

Orchestra

Don’t miss the Orchestra concert with Aspen and Elementary South students performing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 in Aspen’s gym.  Aspen and Elementary South’s band students will be performing in concert on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Aspen’s gym.  This will be the final concerts of the year.

Aspen’s Got Talent

Aspen’s Got Talent is almost here!  Students in 4th & 5th grades have tried out and will be performing for the entire student body on Thursday, May 26 from 12:30 p.m.  Parent are welcome to join the audience!

NO SCHOOL

Don’t forget – Friday, May 27 is a teacher institute day and Monday, May 30 is Memorial Day.  There is NO SCHOOL for students on both these days.  Enjoy the long weekend!

Lost and Found

Parents – if you are missing jackets, sweaters, gloves, hats, etc. please feel free to come in and take a look at our Lost and Found.  We have many items that need to be claimed.
