Aspen Updates May 5, 2017

MAP testing began this week and will continue through 5/16. During this testing time, we ask you to help your child do their best by doing a few things:

  • Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes to school well-rested for the assessments.
  • A healthy breakfast would also benefit your child and has been proven to help students achieve higher academic success.
  • Please be sure and let us know if your student will either be absent or leaving earlier than the regular dismissal times.  We will not start their assessment.  It will need to be made up at another time, taking away from other instructional times.
  • If your child is sick, please do not send him/her to school! We have built-in make up days for those students who miss a test due to illness. Sniffling, sneezing, coughing, etc. all serve as distractions for those taking the assessments

Thank you for helping us to make MAP testing a positive experience for your students.  We look forward to celebrating the growth they have achieved!

Congratulations to our students for their great musical performances and for showcasing their work in the classrooms.  Thank you, parents, for coming to our Open House/Music Programs and for supporting our students!  An extra special thanks goes out to Mrs. Manchester and Ms. Hastings for putting together two wonderful evenings.

Our 5th grade students will be going on the annual Art Institute field trip on Friday, May 5.  Thank you to our PTO for completely covering of the cost of this wonderful trip.

We have an Early Release Day coming up next Thursday, May 11.  Please remember that all students will eat lunch before they are released at 11:25 a.m.
