Aspen Updates November 5, 2015

November Caring Habits

Our Caring habit for the month of November is Listening.  We had an all school assembly on Thursday to kick off the Caring Habit of the month.

Morning Arrival

Please make sure that students are here in time to be in their classroom and ready to start their day by 7:55.  Students coming in 2-3 minutes after the bell rings must first stop and get a tardy pass and can cause a disruption to the classroom and the child’s routine for the day.  The announcements start right at 7:56 and classes are ready to start their day immediately after that.

Colder Weather

Fall weather is here!  Students should be coming to school ready for the weather.  PE classes and recess can still be outside.  Make sure students are coming with enough layers and clothes to be ready to go outside for up to 40 minutes during PE.

Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences are right around the corner.  At Aspen School, student self-evaluation is critical, therefore most teachers will hold student-led conferences.  If you have not already done so, please make sure you have an appointment with your child’s teachers for one of the conference days.  Communication between parents and teachers is extremely important and encouraged.

Lost and Found

Parents – we already have a large amount of lost and found.  If your child is missing an item like a sweatshirt, coat, lunch box, etc., come on in and check our lost and found.  We try to get those items that are marked with a name in them to their owner.  So please, label all items that come to school – it helps!

Cultural Night

On Friday, November 6, Townline School is hosting a Cultural Night for all students and their families throughout the district from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.  Different cultures and family traditions will be celebrated.  Join us!
