Aspen Updates October 9, 2015

 

No School – October 12th
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 12th.  Students return to school on Tuesday, October 13th.
Family Night – October 16th
Mark your calendar for a Magical Night as we watch Steve Belliveau perform an interactive magic show that will be tons of fun for the whole family!  This energetic and funny magician will be showcasing levitation along with some furry friends!  The show will take place on Friday, October 16 from 6:30 – 8 PM in the Aspen Elementary Gym! Early Release – October 20th
October 20th is an early release day for students.  Aspen hours for early release are 7:55-11:25.  Early release days will provide staff the opportunity to participate in professional development focused on improving instruction. Staff will also participate in activities designed to address the strategic plan and school improvement goals.  On October 20th staff at Aspen will be analyzing reading data, writing grade level goals, and creating action plans to ensure all students meet reading growth targets.  Lunch times will be figured into the schedule so please be sure to send your child with a lunch or check out the menu to see what your child might like to order.
Fireman Tony
Fireman Tony from the Countryside Fire Department will be at Aspen School next week visiting all classrooms to talk about fire safety and prevention.  We are excited to have Fireman Tony back at Aspen to provide these important lessons our students.
