Before/After School Care Nears Capacity
The Vernon Hills Park District opened registration for the new Hawthorn Afterschool Program (HAP). It is nearing capacity at some schools for the students in Grades Kindergarten through Six. Based on demand, sixth graders are invited to participate in the program.
Parents may register at the Sullivan Community Center, 635 Aspen Drive, or online at www.vhparkdistrict.org.
Earlier this year, the Hawthorn Board of Education approved the Vernon Hills Park District as its before and after school child care provider for district children. Starting this fall, the Vernon Hills Park District (“Park District”) will assume operation of the program.
The following fees have been established for the Park District before and after school care program which is offered to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Snacks are included.
- Mornings: $7.50 per day; $37.50 per week
- Afternoons: $14.50 per day; $72.50 per week
- $20 per day for early dismissal days
- Non-Attendance Full Day Program: $35 per day
