Testing Season is Here

We are in the midst of testing season right now, with MAP testing, ACCESS testing and Fastbridge testing.  Parents can be a huge help in supporting their students by making sure students are getting a good night’s rest, eating a good, healthy breakfast in the mornings and also by sharing words of encouragement to do their best on the test.  Thanks for partnering with us to help our students do their very best on the test.

Geography Bee

Our 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in a Geography Bee on Thursday, January 23 at 12:45 p.m. in our cafeteria. The Geography Bee is sponsored by National Geographic and covers questions on geography, civilizations, cultures, physical features and more.  The winner at our school, or the “school champion” would take a proctored online qualifying test and the top 100 ranked students in each state qualify to represent their school at the State GeoBee competition. State champions are then invited to compete in the national championship.  Who will Aspen’s school champion be???

And the Spelling Bee Winner is…

Special congratulations to Hope K., a 5th grader from Ms. Roth’s class for winning the Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 16 and for Laila M., a 4th grader in Mrs. Motley’s 4th grade for coming in as first runner up.  They battled through 57 rounds of words before a winner was declared.  Fantastic job, everyone!

Be Seen and Heard Assemblies

All of our students in each grade level took part in the Be Seen and Heard Assemblies on Thursday, December 12.  This program is an effective way to fulfill the Erin’s Law mandate to schools, and helps students learn about how to keep their bodies safe.
