Social Emotional Learning Activities

Aspen is happy to have the opportunity to present new social/emotional lessons to students in all grade levels.  Mrs. Block and Mrs. Medbery, Aspen Social Workers, have had the opportunity to get into all classrooms over the course of the last month to present social/emotional actives and lessons to all students.  Lessons are designed to focus on developmentally appropriate social skills for each grade level.  Topics have included bullying, empathy, coping skills, communication, self advocacy and compromise to name a few.  Below are pictures of students in Mrs. Wysong’s 4th grade classroom participating in some role playing activities.  Students were given a situation and practiced identifying passive, aggressive and assertive communication.  Students were learning about how to communicate their wants and needs in a respectful manner.
